Japan and Bangladesh Signed a Low Carbon Growth Partnership
METI, Japan: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, signed in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a document concerning the Bilateral Offset Credit Mechanism (hereinafter called the “BOCM”) with Mr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman Patwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Bilateral Offset Credit Mechanism is a program in which Japan’s contribution to reduction and absorption of greenhouse gas emissions in partner countries through transferring Japan’s low-carbon technology and products is calculated and evaluated as credits for contribution.
