Low Carbon Asia Research Network (LoCARNet) Kick-off Meeting
LCS-RNet, Japan: Low Carbon Asia Research Network (LoCARNet) Kick-off Meeting was held on 23 July 2012 in Yokohama, Japan on the occasion of the ISAP2012. 8 leading LCS researchers in Asian countries including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand and Viet Nam, 2 from International organizations such as ADB, APN and JICA, and 8 researchers from Japan, 3 from Japanese Ministries participated in the discussion of the Meeting. LoCARNet aims to formulate and better enable the implementation of science-based policies for low-carbon development in the region to facilitate the realisation of a low-carbon and sustainable society, and will be expected to become an autonomous researchers’ network based on south-south cooperation in the region in the near future. Through the meeting, the participants had a frank exchange on LoCARNet, not only on its substantial activities in the future, but also on its organisational architecture, operation, management, etc together with researchers in this region and those concerned.
