First dialogue between policy-makers and researchers in climate change fields, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Cambodia workshop on “Designing and establishing Cambodian Low Carbon Development Plan” was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 29th May. The workshop was organized by Ministry of Environment Cambodia in cooperation with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), National Institute of Environmental Studies (NIES) and Kyoto University. The workshop the first dialogue in which policy-makers and researchers face together to talk about their status on the progress in climate change issues in Cambodia. The workshop is aiming to build a capacity and raise awareness of Cambodian researchers and policy-makers to develop Low carbon Development Plan. In order to achieve the objectives, current policy and research related to low carbon development plan and action plan as well as what kinds of research and development support are needed in Cambodia were identified.
