Can Tho joined 100 resilient cities
The southern city of City has recently been selected to be part of the ‘100 Resilient Cities’ programme (100RC), pioneered by the US-based Rockefeller Foundation. Can Tho City have been selected from over 325 applicants from more than 80 countries worldwide.

322 million USD to against to inundation of urban area of Central city of Mekong Delta
Can Tho city has recently launched a project to develop and strengthen adaptation capacity of urban area to inundation with the total investment cost of more than 322 million USD (over 7,300 billion VND). The project aims to prevent inundation of core urban areas of Can Tho, including Ninh Kieu and Binh Thuy districts; strengthen capacity to cope with inundation and impacts caused rapid urbanization; strengthen management capacity of climate change adaptation urban areas with the role of the central city of the Mekong Delta.

Quang Binh: 450 billion VND to mitigate climate change impacts
The People’s Committee of Quang Binh province has recently announced the REDD action plan for 2016-2020 period (PRAP Quang Binh) with total cost of 450 billion VND to mitigate climate change impacts.

Spatial data infrastructure supports climate change adaptation urban management
The World Bank (WB) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Can Tho city held a workshop with its theme “Vision and roadmap to develop spatial database infrastructure (SDC) for Can Tho”.
