Low-carbon future: Is it achievable?

Global acceptability is what makes the Paris Climate Summit a challenge because what is acceptable to one country might not same for others. The reduction in greenhouses gases has implications that go beyond our physical and natural environment. It also has major implications on the economies especially on countries relying on fossil fuels as main drivers of their economic growth. It has been shown that an increase in GDP also results in an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, attributed mostly to the use of fossil fuel for energy use.

A key question for the future of energy supply, he said, is whether energy will be centralized or decentralized because the latter is looking increasingly more likely.
