Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment issues 79 legal documents in 2014

According to the implementation schedule of 2014 Developing and Issuing Legal documents Program, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) will issue 79 ministry-related legal documents under state management.

Three important draft laws developed, revised and completed this year include the Law on environmental protection, the Law on marine and islands resources and environment and the Law on hydrometeorlogy.

Vietnam encouraged businesses for sustainable development

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development and British Council Vietnam have jointly organized the Vietnam business forum for sustainable development which is held annually.

the forum focused on discussing sustainable development initiatives such as new business models, efficient energy use, and adaptation to climate change, or doing business with the poor.

In 2014 and the coming years, Vietnam Government will strengthen the business encouragement for sustainable development and enhancing competitiveness by promoting administrative reform, creating mechanisms for equally allocating natural and human resources, encouraging the community’s participation in monitoring this allocation.

Vietnam – Japan: Agreement on the rules of procedures and guidance for the implementation of JCM

At the meeting, both Vietnam and Japan agreed to approve the Rules of Procedures and Guidance of the Implementation for JCM and the procedure of cooperation and assistance in the Mechanism and to promote the importance and necessity of raising awareness of not only ASEAN member countries but also JCM-related enterprises.

Among projects proposed by Vietnam, Japan has discussed and approve on 4 model ones. They are Integrated Energy Efficiency Improvement at Beer Factory; Energy Efficient NH3 Heat Pumps to Marine Products Processing Industry in Ho Chi Minh City; Green Hospital – Further Energy Savings and Air Quality in Vietnamese Hospitals and Energy Management System in hotels (V-BEMS).

Vietnam receives ODA fund worth 25 billion JYP

On behalf of Vietnamese government and Japanese government respectively, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and Ambassador of Japan in Vietnam H.E. Hiroshi Fukada signed a diplomatic note of exchange on the provision of ODA fund worth 25 billion JYP in the 2013 fiscal year.

The ODA fund granted to Vietnamese government is aimed at implementing 2 major projects: the Support Program to Respond to Climate Change (10 billion JYP) and the Economic Management and Competitiveness Credit program (15 billion JYP).
