The main objective of the workshop was:
– Supporting the development of Low-carbon strategy and roadmap by collaborations with Indonesian researchers and Japanese experts (time horizon 2020 and post 2020 up to 2050)
The workshop aimed:
– to overview the low-carbon society modelling exercise (snap-shot type model, technology bottom up model, and economy model) being carried out by researchers in-country
– to provide opportunities for introducing great efforts taken by Japanese research organizations towards achieving low-carbon societies in Japan and Asia, and for promoting workshop participants understand how to link research result with policy-making process
– to get inputs from policy-makers in directing research activities on the use of the modelling tools in formulating and better enabling the implementation of science-based low-carbon, and green-growth policy in Indonesia so that the researchers’ in-country can be actively engaged in supporting national/regional low-carbon, green-growth policies.
