METI, Japan: The 2012 Annual Report on Energy (Japan’s “Energy White Paper 2012”) was approved by the Cabinet and submitted to the Diet. The Annual Report on Energy was compiled pursuant to Article 11 of the Basic Act on Energy Policy (Act No. 71 of 2002) in which the government is required to submit a report to the Diet on the general situation regarding the measures it has taken in relation to energy supply and demand.
