European Commission proposes priority objectives for the environment and climate to 2020
EC, EU: The European Commission adopted a proposal for a new Environment Action Programme, which will provide an overarching framework for EU environment and climate policy up to 2020. The proposal aims to enhance Europe’s ecological resilience and transform the EU into an inclusive and sustainable green economy. Accelerating the transition to the low-carbon economy is one of the three thematic priorities of the programme.
